Drawing inspiration from Judaism, I create art that synthesizes image and text as a gateway to other traditions and shared experience.

I weave together my own heritage with colorful, wide-ranging artistic influences. While using the language of Judaism, I seek to embrace themes that extend well beyond it and to honor the wisdom of communities, individuals and histories that inform contemporary culture.

For each work I choose a central phrase to encapsulate an idea, sparking a series of associations. Elements frequently include symbols, imagery and text. Meticulously researching the content, I add annotated explanations. I paint in acrylic on muslin, stretched over archival board and add texture to the surface to resemble stone. I have also translated my work into glass and fiber.
