Chana Zelig’s art is inspired by her scholarly Jewish education and heritage. She creates both large scale public art and smaller, personal pieces. Her professional achievements range from creating stained glass windows for two Chicago-area synagogues to private family commissions. For clients throughout the United States and Israel, Chana Zelig’s art connects personal narratives with their larger cultural framework.

Her stained glass work includes ten windows for the Temple Beth-El sanctuary in Northbrook, Illinois and six chapel windows and a large glass wall partition at Temple Am Shalom in Glencoe, Illinois.  For each of these commissions, Zelig fabricated the glass at the Derix Glasstudios in Taunusstein, Germany.

Zelig has also created large works in fiber, including the donor recognition wall at Temple Beth-El, and a tapestry presented by the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews to its founder.

A seasoned public speaker on Jewish aesthetics, Zelig has been an Artist-in-Residence at West Suburban Temple Har Zion in River Forest, Illinois, and has been the featured interview on a Chicago television program exploring Judaism and the arts.
